Get to know me better!

September 2000

Nikki was born and raised in Heerhugowaard, the Netherlands. With a mom in psychology and a dad in crafting her first steps in to the world we're already influenced.

September 2016

Her creative journey began in Amsterdam with a degree in Media Editing & Journalism, which she completed in 2020. During this program she developed skills in interviewing, research, writing, magazine design, radio production, and video editing. This period taught me how to tell stories, understand audiences, and work with content across multiple formats.

September 2020

After graduating, Nikki felt a strong urge to explore beyond her comfort zone. Through a TV program she traveled abroad, improved her English, gained international perspective, and reflected deeply on the next step of her creative education.

September 2021

In 2021, Nikki chose Communication & Multimedia Design. During her studies, she decided to specialize in UX Design, driven by her long-standing interest in how people experience products and services.

Early in life, she worked with a psychologist to better understand behavior and personal development, an experience that sparked her fascination with applied psychology.

Since then, Nikki has continued exploring human behavior from both scientific and holistic perspectives.

UX felt like the perfect intersection for her: researching users, conducting interviews, brainstorming, understanding their needs, and translating insights into meaningful and creative design.

Over time, UI design also became a passion, allowing her to reconnect with hands-on creation, now within professional digital projects.

2021 - 2025

During her studies, Nikki gained work experience through internships and side jobs.

At a volunteer organization, she took on a leading role, managing projects and shaping user experiences independently, although she missed having a senior team to learn from.

At DPG Media (NU.nl), she contributed to UX research for a single brand, focusing on testing and insights.

At an educational organization supporting students’ learning mindsets, she applied UX and behavioral design principles to improve engagement and learning experiences.

July 2025

Nikki graduated with a 9 for her end project at Remind Learning.

Currently, she works at an international expat agency as an independent content creator, designing improvements to the user experience, building community initiatives, and increasing visibility.

In 2026, she is looking for a UX environment where she can grow as a junior UX designer.

Travel

I’ve always been inspired by international environments. Traveling, working abroad, and meeting people from different cultures. I lived in Italy as an au pair, returned to Rome and Paris every year, and spent half a year living and working in Indonesia, experiences that opened my eyes to new perspectives in creativity, design, and everyday life. Working in diverse, English-speaking teams feels natural to me, and I genuinely enjoy connecting across cultures.

I love deep 1-on-1 conversations where you can really explore someone’s inner world.
I used to be a night owl until I read The Miracle Morning, now I wake up around 6 AM.
Unhealthy or fried food? Not for me. I’m all about healthy meals, meal prepping, and baking. I make my own sweets and I’m part of a cooking club. Cooking also means connection for, it’s something I share with my dad.
I’m super clean. Tidying up with music is something I genuinely enjoy, it creates space in my home and in my mind.
Karaoke and dancing are my therapy. Expect wild hand gestures and charger-microphones.
People describe me as a good listener, curious, spontaneous, social, inquisitive, crazy, creative, being able to show vulnerability and set boundaries, flexible, aware, helpful, accurate, loyal, empathetic, adventurous, perfectionist and enthusiastic.

I am the surviving half of a twin.
I proudly take care of my body like it’s a temple, skincare rituals, always showering before bedtime, headspa's, montly massages, make-up, parfumes (have worked in serval beauty shops as a side job) and clothes of quality. I care about the enviroment and love to go vintage shopping.

I’ve had a VUE movie pass since 2015 so I can watch every new film. I go to concerts, musicals, museums, movies, events, stories, art and performance.
It’s easy to make me laugh, I smile a lot. I love cabaret and visit the theatre around 30 times a year.
Creativity is my playground. I love baking, photography, video editing, organising events and surprises, pottery, writing, drawing, painting, beauty, designing and interviewing. Festivals also give me tons of high energy.
I live by to-do lists (501 at the moment) and always prepare my outfit and food the night before.
Taboos don’t scare me. I’m not easily shocked. I'm open minded and raised by a mom who is a spiritual worker.
I’ve been with my boyfriend since 2017 (7.5 years!)
I’m high sensitive and have an eye for details. Which strengths my senses to colour, scent, light, temperature, crowds & atmosphere. I'm an extravert, but will have to load my battery alone like an introvert.
I collect giveaways, I’ve won around 33 so far. 🎁
I never get homesick for places or people. I trust that I’ll see them again, or that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. Growing up between different homes since I was 2 years old, taught me how to adapt easily and feel at home wherever I go.
I’m adventurous and whenever I discover a new place, I do research and plan the whole trip to make sure having the best experiences.
